Community Education Registration
Our Community Education programs are open to all ages. If you are registering for a child/minor please include their first name and age.

If you become unable to attend PLEASE CONTACT community@thehistorycenter.net so we can offer your space to others on the waitlist.

We are grateful to offer these programs free of charge for the community, and ask you to respect the educators time and commitment when you reserve a space for our programs.

PRINT-A-KITTY

All ages (yes kids AND adults) are invited to learn about the famous Ithaca Kitty and the different artistic interpretations the toy has inspired for over a century! Laura Rowley of Illuminated Press will help children create their own prints and greeting cards with laser cut blocks using images from the Ithaca Kitty archives!

All participants will leave with three high quality greeting cards laser cut by local printer and book artist Laura Rowley of Illuminated Press, printed on locally made Combat Paper by local artist Nate Lewis. Participants may also make and take home as many practice prints on scrap paper as they would like. Scrap paper will be provided, but participants may also bring items from home if they'd like to test how they print!

WHEN: Saturday December 11th - Session 1 is from 10:30am-12:30pm, Session 2 is from 1:30pm-3:30pm

WHERE: Second Floor Conference Room in the Tompkins Center for History & Culture on the Ithaca Commons

PRESENTERS: Zoë Van Nostrand (The History Center), Laura Rowley (Illuminated Press)

This FREE program is intended for all ages. Registration is limited to 15 per session and all participants (regardless of age) must wear masks for the entire program. All materials will be sanitized between sessions.
